Established by Alana Kennedy, a descendant of the Eastern Arrernte, Kalkadoon and Waanyi Tribes, in North West Queensland, Australia, the brand draws from Indigenous knowledge systems that understand botanicals as living contributors, selected through generations of observation and accessed only with permission from the Traditional Custodians of Australia. These ingredients are rare by nature, protected by place, and used with intention.

With over 18 years of experience in the global beauty industry, Alana developed Ochre Sun as an alternative to rushed formulation and extract-led storytelling. Each product is created through a vertically integrated model that safeguards Indigenous knowledge at every stage, pairing traditional wisdom with rigorous scientific validation, including collaboration with CSIRO.
